Kid Friendly Eating in Penzance

Kid Friendly Eating in Penzance

Deciding on somewhere to eat out with the kids can sometimes be a challenge. Not a problem in Penzance which boast some great child friendly eateries that the whole family can enjoy. In fact, it was a struggle to pick just a handful of them, but here goes…we’ve hand-picked a few guaranteed to satisfy those little tummies!

Head down of an evening to The Waterside Meadery to sample some ‘Pirate Food’ With low lighting and a rustic medieval décor the food Is served on wooden plates by waitresses dressed as serving wenches (and eaten with your fingers in true medieval style of course!) The kids will be enthralled by the lanterns and pirate style artefacts that adorn the walls and ceilings and for the adults why not sample our famous Cornish Mead wine…  careful though it’s not for the faint hearted! Portions are plentiful with a range of starters mains and desserts and the restaurant is nestled on the Harbour providing the perfect setting to end your evening with a pleasant stroll.

In keeping with the Pirate theme (it is Penzance after all!) head along to Causewayhead where you’ll find The Smugglers Den, a pirate themed family restaurant. Great value for money with a wide range of options for adults and a children’s menu with prices starting at just £1.99. Alongside Burgers, chicken, steaks and hotdogs there is also a range of salads and sandwiches available, all dishes have nautical names to add to the fun… why not try some Buccaneer chicken?! The kids will love the Pirate theme and if you’re purchasing two adult main meals you get two kids meals for free. We recommend trying one of their popular milkshakes! These have their own menu and you can choose from a variety of flavours and add extras such as Hershey chocolate or M&Ms… a real Penzance treat!

Looking to explore slightly further afield for a meal? We recommend the Station House in Marazion. Only two miles from Penzance…follow the seafront on foot for a lovely walk, The Station House encompasses beautiful views of Mounts Bay and of the famous Cornish landmark St Michaels Mount. Choose to dine in the conservatory with an enviable sea view and enjoy an after dinner drink on the patio… a stone’s throw from the beach where the kids can play. The Station House is open for Lunch and Dinner and is a perfect to place to while away a sunny Cornish evening.

Looking for that old faithful treat of Fish and Chips? Frasers in Penzance is just the place. Situated on Penzance Promenade (conveniently for the kids it is next door to the Amusement Arcade!) there is a spacious restaurant to enjoy your meal as well as the traditional take away option. Child friendly with food cooked to order it’s no wonder Frasers has become such a hit with local families. There are grilled fish options served with salad for those healthy eaters and they can even provide gluten free fish and chips! Children’s meals come with a free bucket and spade and the kids will be delighted to see that they have a wide range of ice cream flavours available for dessert…the perfect accompaniment to an after dinner stroll along the promenade.
