Still growing strong at 96

The West Cornwall Horticultural Society will be holding their 96th Spring
Flower Show on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March 2020 at the Show’s
relatively new home in Marazion.  The Community Centre is proving to be
very popular with exhibitors and visitors alike with everyone appreciating the free parking and easy access it offers.
The show proudly kick starts the succession of flower shows across the
county always hosting an impressive display of spring flowering Camellias.
This year there are exciting plans for a new layout to showcase the stunning array of floral exhibits it attracts. There will be new classes too, continuing the
Society’s drive to encourage new entrants. Show secretary, Louise Thomas,
explained how the introduction of classes for non professional gardeners had caused quite a stir last few years with “My Best Red Camellia” class creating some family feuds!  “Whist we all admire the expert horticultural knowledge of the professional head gardeners that enter we are also are aiming to make the Show inclusive to all gardeners – the young, the old, the amateurs and the keen enthusiasts.  We hope that there is something for everyone.”
Show schedules will be available online –  www.wchs.co.uk  – from early
January.  For entry forms or further information please contact Louise
Thomas  wchs-secretary@hotmail.com
