Known as ‘the friendliest lit fest in the UK’, Penzance Literary Festival features a calendar packed full of events celebrating writers and their works.
The festival was launched in 2010 and has evolved in to a successful and diverse celebration of the written word, which is supported by patron and acclaimed author Patrick Gale. Events include workshops, readings and talks which are led by industry experts and published authors.
True to its roots as a community festival, it offers a platform for many fine local writers, as well as nationally-known names from the world of books and entertainment. From small beginnings, the festival has grown into one of the most popular events in the Cornish calendar, bringing visitors to the town from both the local area and across the UK.
This year’s festival runs from the 3rd to the 6th July, you can view the full calendar of events on the Lit Fest website; www.pzlitfest.co.uk/events
Penzance Literary Festival is always looking for volunteers to help with stewarding at its events as well as promoting the festival in the area.
