Whether it’s a family meal, celebration or business party the Boatshed will not fail to impress. Large parties of up to a hundred people can be catered for with a license until 1am.
The menus use only the best in fresh local ingredients and there really is something for everyone. The finest West Country Steaks cooked to perfection are a firm favourite with locals and their seafood fishes have received a deservedly rave reviews. The menus are varied and include an ever-changing specials menu, there are exotic dishes to share and if you are just popping for a light bite there’s a rarity of delicious salads and ciabattas to choose from.
The restaurant is steeped in Cornish History; during the Victorian Era Bonsuns Locker was the centre of business of the Matthews family, who are merchants, sail makers and ship owners filled all three floors of the building with barrels of the tallow and tar, coal from Wales, Quebec timber and chandlery goods. Most of this cargo was landed from the Matthews family’s own ships and portraits hang in the alcoves of the restaurant today. Many of the restaurants timber were in true Cornish tradition salvaged from shipwrecks and over a hundred years later are stunning features of the restaurant’s decor.
