Rachel Wright and Jane Docherty took over The Old Lifeboat House Bistro in Penzance in March last year.
As soon as Rachel and Jane saw the Bistro with its uninterrupted view of Penzance harbour, they agreed it was the opportunity they had been looking for.
As the name suggests, the Bistro is located in an old lifeboat house and the building has been beautifully restored. There are plans to work with the RNLI in the coming months to focus on the history of the building and to also highlight the courageous work of the local lifeboat crews over the years.
The Old Lifeboat House Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu uses predominantly local produce and offers fresh seafood specials, with the fish being delivered daily.
On Friday lunchtimes the bistro is offering “Buy one get half price” on the Catch of the Day…. A great treat to start the weekend.
A new special is to be introduced this Summer: ‘Bubbles and Pearls’. Following the success of offering fresh oysters last summer, this Summer they will be accompanied by a glass of bubbly alongside. What finer combination on a sunny evening, overlooking the harbour?
Rachel and Jane are delighted that throughout their first season, the Bistro remained one of the top restaurants in Penzance (as rated by both Google and Trip Advisor). There are slight changes to the menu for the coming year but they remain focused on maintaining their great reputation for locally sourced seafood at reasonable prices.
The Bistro is both family and dog friendly and offers both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can enjoy a visit whatever the weather.
