After two years of building a strong and loyal following in Newlyn, the team at Duke Street Cafe are delighted to announce that they are spreading their wings and will be taking over the proceedings at Trewidden Tea Room at Trewidden Gardens, once of the Great Gardens of Cornwall…
Akin at Duke Street Cafe, diners at Trewidden can expect delights such as fresh crab, homemade soups, panini’s, homemade cakes, fantastic coffee and much more.
Both establishments will continue to strongly support local businesses; with a large proportion of their produce sourced from Cornwall and with at least half of both menues sourced from within a five-mile radius.
Fresh vegetables and salad ingredients will be obtained from Trewidden Farm, fish and crab from Newlyn courtesy of Stevensons and The Real Cornish Crab Company, and top-quality meats from just across the road at Lentern’s Butches. To top it off it can be washed down with a Cornish hand roasted coffee.
Set in idyllic surroundings Trewidden really is a hidden jewel in the heart of the Penwith and boasts an internationally acclaimed collection of plants. The Megnolias, Camellias and Tree Fern Dell are a must see at the Trewidden Trial is great fun for the children.
Joining forces with Duke Street Cafe will offer customers a fantastic day out, perfect for families as well as for the garden loving dog walkers among us. Both the Cafe and the gardens are dog friendly.
For as little as £15 you can purchase Friends of Trewidden season ticket allowing you unlimited visits throughout the reason including joining the Head Gardener’s guided tours and 10% off all plant purchases.
The garden will be open for a preview on the 24th February to all previous and new friends who choose to purchase their 2018 friends ticket that day and to celebrate this new collaboration. They are invited to enjoy a free glass of bubbly and to sample some of that the tea room has to offer. Trewidden Garden will open for the season on 25th February and remain open until 23rd September from 10:30am until 5:30pm, seven days a week (last garden admission is at 4:30pm)
Dogs are welcome and entry under 16’s is free of charge. The ‘Friends of Trewidden Preview Day’ will be on February the 24th with free bubbly, cake and delicious samples for all those who purchase a ticket.
